Guesthouse Sonne is in a very central position in the village center of St. Lorenzen in the Pustertal. The small and characteristic guesthouse is a place where you will feel immediately home. For five generations the Pichler family pampers its guests with their hospitality. In the morning a wonderful breakfast buffet awaits you and, in the evening, we cook traditional South Tyrolean dishes. Flexibly you can decide if choosing half board, bed and breakfast, or only the overnight stay. The guesthouse is located only 3 km from Kronplatz and offers very good connections to public transport to the towns of Bruneck, Brixen, and the side valleys of the Pustertal. Additionally, it is the perfect starting point for skiing, hiking, or other activities. In cold and warm months, the unique mountain world and natural landscape invite you to explore and experience the wonderful Dolomites region.

The Story of the Guesthouse Sonne
The historic house in St. Lorenzen
Our guesthouse is one of the oldest in the municipality of St. Lorenzen and the first guests were served in this house as early as 1557. In 1845, the guesthouse “An der Sonne” passed into family ownership and is now run by the fifth generation.

If you arrive by car, you can park it in our parking lot or garage for free.
The rooms are ready for check-in at 2 pm. On the day of departure, we ask you to leave the room by 10 am.
Please call us if you plan to arrive after 6 pm.
Yes, we cook vegetarian dishes.
The prices are per person and day. Not included in the price is the local tax of € 2.50 per day/person, which must be paid on-site.
If a double room is booked as a single room, an additional fee of € 15.00 per day will be charged.
The additional fee for the use of a single room is € 10.00 per day.
A shorter stay (less than 3 days) will be charged with an additional fee of € 5.00 per day and person.
If you book a stay without breakfast, you will be charged € 10.00 less per day/person.

Walks and Hikes - The Legend Trail in St. Lorenzen
A family-friendly circular trail is the 3,5 km long Legend Trail in St. Lorenzen.The starting point is only 300m from Gasthof Sonne near the old train station and it tells a few stories about the village.

During the warm months, the wide network of cycling paths and mountain bike routes will invite you to take a picturesque tour through the Pustertal. An easy cycling tour for the whole family runs from Bruneck to Innichen, while the various routes up and down the Kronplatz are rather sweaty. And it's not just the cycle network that is excellent - but also the public transport connections. You can take your bike with you on buses and trains and thus reach your starting point car-free or simply ride back again.

If you are a Nordic walking fan don’t miss the big Nordic Walking Parc which extends from Pfalzen above Bruneck until Rasen. With over 275 km marked Nordic Walking Route the Nature Fitness Park Kronplatz-Dolomiti offers different tours with every difficulty and high-level difference.

Where are we located?
In the village center of St. Lorenzen
Pension Gasthof Sonne is very easy to reach. We are in the beautiful village of St. Lorenzen, in a very central position. Thanks to its strategic location and good public transport connections, the accommodation is also a great starting point for excursions to other places in South Tyrol.
By public transportation
What about a car-free vacation in South Tyrol? Apart from the fact that you receive the Holidaypass advantage card on your arrival which enables you to use all public transport in South Tyrol (bus, train, cable car, etc.) free of charge, there are train connections to Bruneck and bus connections to St. Lorenzen every half hour. There is also a train from Bressanone/Brixen to Val Pusteria/Pustertal every half hour.
By car
Take the Brixen/Vahrn exit on the A22 and then continue on the SS 49 for about 25 km until you reach the village of St. Lorenzen. Your accommodation is in the center of the village. We have a free parking lot where you can park your car.
